Ahhhh pumpkin pie. My personal favorite kind of pie. In general, I am a bit of a pumpkin addict. I prefer to put pumpkin in just about anything; protein bars, breads, squares, soups, ice cream and the list goes on… Smoothies are not safe either! I was going to call this recipe “drinkable pumpkin pie” but I thought, “wait; that sounds a bit disgusting; like soggy pumpkin pie”… Hmmm. Pumpkin pie smoothie it is. Plus, I can never resist adding protein powder to my smoothies to keep me full longer!
Pumpkin Pie Protein smoothie
1/2 cup pumpkin
1 small frozen banana, pre sliced (or fresh ripe banana and 4-5 ice cubes)
1 Tbsp flax
1 cup almond milk
1/2 – 1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 – 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
4 drops stevia or sweetener of choice to taste
Blend, sprinkle with cinnamon and serve immediately. Serves one.
